Let’s bring it home
This might be the last time you’ll be hearing from me before Election Day, so here are a few final words before we win this thing.
A year ago, I launched my candidacy for Missouri’s 2nd District because I was fed up with the way things were going in Washington D.C.
Trump was selling out working folks to his billionaire buddies. My representative, Congresswoman Ann Wagner, was screwing us over, voting with Trump 100% of the time and profiting off it. And instead of working towards getting shit done, the Republican Doormat Congress decided to gridlock the legislature, shut down the government, and go on an extended vacation.
Costs. Chaos. Corruption.
I served my country for 22 years, and the moment I retired I kept working to support our nation. When Ann Wagner abandoned her constituents last year, I knew it was time to step up and serve my country once again.
I put everything on the line to do the one thing Ann Wagner has refused to do for nearly 14 years: show up.
What’s happened since has been nothing short of remarkable.
The race that the pundits and pollsters thought was a foregone conclusion has turned into the most competitive race in the nation. Sabato’s Crystal Ball has moved us to a toss-up. Nate Silver has us within 0.1% of defeating Ann Wagner and flipping this seat for the first time in 30 years.

That’s because we didn’t accept the status quo.
Instead of standing by while our freedoms were being attacked, while our economy was being wrecked and while our healthcare was being stripped away from us, we got to work.
In one year, we hosted 13 town halls, a candidate forum, visited every part of the district, fought an outrageous Republican gerrymander — three times — and outraised the MAGA money machine for the past four months. Heck, we even organized a food drive that collected 4,368 pounds of food for our district because the mission is to serve, not just win.
We knew Missouri could be better, and we didn’t waver on our promise to fight for it. We knew we weren’t done yet.
So let’s bring it home.
Looks like rain is in the forecast, so bring an umbrella. Bring a friend, too.
No matter what, stay in line! The polling sites can’t turn you away if you show up.
And if you’re not in this district, please, pitch in an extra few bucks to get us over the finish line. Even with less than 36 hours to go, the contributions we receive today are going to help us plan and execute our operations by the minute. We wouldn’t have gotten this far in the fight without grassroots support, so if you can, help us make sure we are running at 100% until the polls close.
We’ve worked so incredibly hard to make it to this moment. For all of you who have been with us from the very beginning, saying I’m grateful is putting it lightly. Whether you knew me before I entered this race or just started tuning in, your support has been what has fueled this campaign. It’s never been about pleasing those at the top or serving on behalf of special interest groups. It’s been a people-powered campaign for a people-first agenda.

To my family, friends, colleagues, and viewers who have stood by me and encouraged me to run for office, thank you. I know it’s been a long, tough road, but you all have been my rock. I wouldn’t have gone through with this campaign if I didn’t have your support.
So enough talking. Let’s bring this home. Let’s vote. Let’s take back Missouri, flip this seat, and get to the real work.
Yours in the fight,
Fred Wellman
